Group 7 oil filters are engineered and designed by Purolator with manufacturing located in Fayetteville, NC. Purolator is the inventor of the first engine oil filter in 1923, and also the first automotive aftermarket manufacturer to launch size standardizations for existing and new applications. Beginning with the first block mounted full flow spin-on filter, Purolator continues to add both new spin-on and cartridge oil filters to ensure coverage for 98% of the vehicles on the road today. These filters feature a synthetic blend media for improved performance over yesterday's filters.
Leading Innovation
Some Group 7 oil filters are a different size than the filter you are removing from the vehicle. This can size reduction is part of an industry trend in size standardization that the OE's themselves have begun to implement.
Through extensive research and testing, we found that certain oil filters will work on additional applications than originally marketed. This smaller filter size and improved media offer the same performance of the larger filter being replaced. This means fewer part numbers with additional coverage, simplification of the oil filter line, and reduced inventory - which all lead to cost savings for you, our customers.
The Group 7 oil filter line presents the opportunity of reduced inventory carrying needs, increased vehicle coverage and reduced outbound freight by:
- Consolidating 7 part numbers
- Reducing diameters on 1 part number
- Improving vehicle coverage to 98%
- Increasing the pallet quantity on 9 part numbers
Group 7 oil filters offer the security of the Purolator brand name that has been valued for decades and are backed by our manufacturers' warranty.
